He was rescued by Warpath who was sent by Sledge when he was trapped in another world. Eventually,he took over a drug cartel responsible for a drug that gave superhuman powers.

History: Vargas claimed to be the ultimate expression of evolutionary potential. He sought to kill all mutants, and among the mutants that he killed was Psylocke. He was defeated by Rogue in battle.

History: Venus Dee Milo was elected to replace U-Go Girl in the newly reformed X-Statix. (formerly known as X-Force). She has since developed a potential romantic relationship with the team leader, Orphan.

VERTIGO II

Group affiliation: Member of the Marauders; former member of the Savage Land Mutates
Powers: Cause vertigo
First appearance: Marvel Fanfare #1
History: The past of Vertigo remains unknown. She first appeared as a member of the Savage Land Mutates. She was later recruited as a member of the Marauders during the Mutant Massacre. She was apparently killed but Mr. Sinister cloned her.

VESSEL

Group affiliation: Member of Gene Nation
Powers: Absorb soul energy of recently deceased for strength

History: Vessel is a member of the Gene Nation who traveled from the Morlock world to gain revenge on the surface people. He was defeated by the X-Men.

VINDALOO

History: Vindaloo was a member of the Acolytes who first appeared when Magneto release a magnetic storm in the North Pole. His current fate after the destruction of Genosha is unknown.

VIVISECTOR

Group affiliation: X-Statix; former member of the commercial X-Force

History: Vivisector joined the new commercial X-Force after the first team was destroyed. Together with Phat, they were later revealed to be gay.

VOGHT, AMELIA

First Appearance: Uncanny X-Men #300
History: Amelia Voght was one of the new Acolytes recruited by Magneto. She has a past with Professor Xavier. She summoned Cyclops and Phoenix's aid during the fall of Avalon. She left the Acolytes when Exodus returned to take control, but returned to Magneto's side when the latter took over Genosha. Her current fate after the destruction of Genosha is unknown.

VOYAGER

Powers: Open teleportation gates

First appearance: Quasar #33
History:  Voyager was a member of the Shi'ar Imperial Guard who went against the Kree during Operation: Galactic Storm.
