- THE AGUSAN RIVER
This is the biggest and longest navigable river in Mindanao.
a cruise along the river Barangays reveals so much Butuan's history,
culture, arts, and people. As atribute, to the Patroness of the
Agusan River Senora Sta. Ana, the ABAYAN Festival was born - a day
long celebration of Baroto races and fluvial procession at the Agusan
River.
- MT. MAYAPAY
Looming southwest of Agusan Valley is the majestic mountain plateau,
an intersting landmark in Butuan City. It is 2,212feet above sea level.
Mt Mayapay got its name from the ancient Madjapahit empire. The same
Madjapahit Empire that counted around the 10th or 11th century.
The history behind the Sri-Vishaya period bears much meaning and
influence of Butuan's pre-historic and archeological discoveries.
- MT. HILONG-HILONG
A challenge for mountain climbers who would
venture on the undiscovered passages of Mt. Hilong-
Hilong. The 2,012 tall Mt. Hilong-Hilong is known to
be the tallest mountain in the province of Agusan del
Norte. Waterfalls and a lake reputed to be enchanted
are among its special features.
- LAKE MAINIT - Jabonga and Kitcharao, Mainit
Third largest freshwater lake in the country constituting an
aproximate surface area of about 14,000 hectares with 50 kilometers
stretch of shorelines.

Cascades over huge boulders bordered by
vegetation of towering trees and giant ferns.

Cascading water is broken by boulders which
also serve as diving ponds for bathers.

The cave boasts of mysterious stalagmites
in its echoing chambers.
