Monologue
A single tree
Denuded of its soul –
Branches removed,
With prosthetic limbs
Upholding unnatural selections
(of wires and bolts of every gauge)
And concrete roots –
Stands tall and free –
Dead to all hypocrisy –
Succumbs to be a mono log.
