This CD is a perfect example how to take a good quality radio show and
produce something bad of it. First - they used a tape copy instead of the
original vinyl show. Second - they fade in the songs and, of course, they
fade out as well. Horrible! Buy Canadian Night (Buccaneer Records BUC 011)
it has the same songs in better soundquality and no fades at all. Avoid
Feel The Blues. Despite the rare photo on the front (reprinted in bad
quality) from The Doors' 1968 Top Of The Pops appearance) there isn't
anything good to say about this CD.

be collected for the songs. You know what? I am sure they will continue
putting out Doors Live bootlegs taken off the In Concert album. Just wait.
This disc - like the first Fremus release - is also known as Golden Age

First I thought this was a copy of one of the other The Doors Live CDs
(More Record Production) but then I noticed the different source of the
song Light My Fire and the omission of The Celebration Of The Lizard. But
that doesn't matter. This too is just another useless compilation. Is it
really necessary to mention that a copy with a red back cover was seen at
a record fair?

Fair enough, this useless CD has got an astonishingly good sound. All
tracks have been published before on many other CDs. This is the version
with the bar code on the backcover. The second edition has the same
content, the same design on disc, the same backcover (without bar-code),
but a totally different cover. It seems somebody is selling his uninteresting
product twice. The cover of the second edition is worse than the one
of the first edition.

- they couldn't wait to use its songs for their releases. No wonder the
soundquality of the copies is superb. This CD is also known as Golden Age

If you own the box The Complete Matrix Club Tapes (KTS BX 009) you should
be aware that this mid-price CD is a copy of disc #4 from the box. Fine
cover, fine quality. Limited to 200 copies only.
Note: On the four nicely designed Oil Well midprice discs Summer's Almost
Gone (RSC CD 114), Moonlight Drive (RSC CD 115), Shake Your Moneymaker
(RSC CD 116) and Down On Me (RSC CD 117) you find the complete recordings
of four sets at the Matrix Club, San Francisco, March 7th and March 10th,
1967. No wonder the first set of March 10th is still missed - those discs
were copied from the great KTS box The Complete Matrix Club Tapes.
Altogether they are cheaper than the box - so if you can't get that one,
try to get the four.

double CD, which uses parts of the original artwork of the single CDs. The
CDs have exactly the same quality as the originals, no wonder - they were
made from the same glass masters. While New York Blues is still a
masterwork, we have a fine substitute for Orange County Suite now: Missing

Eric's pretty drunk or on a trip to somewhere, and he's hoarse, too. And
he's slamming most of the songs down to hell, ripping his own greatest
hits into pieces: "I hate this fucking tune, you know that! ... I hate it!
... When they put me down in my grave, I'm gonna yell this fucking tune
when I go down underneath the earth ...". That's Eric Burdon for you! What
follows is the ugliest version of The House Of The Rising Sun I've ever
heard. So, unbelievable Eric, I'm terribly sorry, but the best on this
bootleg CD are the musicians, not the voice. Krieger's guitar solos are
as good as ever, and the rest of the band really tries to get it on. It
seems this was recorded right after filming Oliver Stone's The Doors
movie: "We've been out in Los Angeles making the Doors movie...", Eric
Burdon barks right before Robby starts Back Door Man. Powerful good sound,
but for Krieger-fans only.

A strange Japanese compilation of two previously published CDs. This
release omits Break On Through, When The Music's Over and Light My Fire
(from Frankfurt). It seems the Japanese Panthers didn't want any songs
doubled on their release. Or was it just a question of space? Well, all
crackles are still on this release - I wish somebody would release a CD
made from the original tapes, not from a crackling vinyl copy!

Eyes Of Darkness was the first US-Doors-bootleg-CD. It is one of the rare
real CD bootlegs (not half-legal as 95% of the European boots). They say
on the cover the origin was Germany ... but it was not. Nobody over here
says Munich for München, and the zipcode is not 9000, but 8000.
What about some little research, boys? Despite that, the disc is a remake of the
original TAKRL-bootleg-LP Moonlight Drive-The Scream Of The Butterfly,
using the original tapes. Exile Records produced a different cover than
the original LP (a colour shot of Jim and Pamela inside Pam's Themis
boutique, previously published by Rolling Stone). So- the cover is nice,
the sound O.K., but the Matrix-concert has been on countless other
bootlegs before. Anyway, for nostalgia-fans only. It's interesting to
listen to the old boots without crackling noises. Eyes Of Darkness is one
of the most sought-after CD boots ever, by the way. Really, it is very
very rare!

The original vinyl version is a first grade collectors' item. And so will
be the CD which came out in a limited edition. For the CD the producers
used the same photo and artwork but this time in colour. Great picture!
My favourite record cover of all times! The sound is much better than on
Freedom Man (Banzai Records BZBX 036/37/38) and - of course - this was a
good concert. I still cannot understand why the biography No One Here Gets
Out Alive says it was a bad one! Notice the unusual medley during The End.
I can't remember any other version of The End featuring Wake Up. The CD
is different from the vinyl: All that guitar tuning and all those audience
noises are included this time. Both the vinyl and the CD miss the encore,
which was Roadhouse Blues. Instead of that on the CD there is a bonus
track from Denver 1967 which has not been published before. The song
sounds as if this was taped miles away from the stage, but it is truly a
fantastic mindblowing version of Light My Fire and totally new to
everybody. Absolutely: Recommended!
