The Luminary

Simon Wray, owner of Revenant's 7th Sea Site, is creating a web journal for 7th Sea characters. Below he details the journal, called "The Luminary" and asks for a "call to arms", so to speak. Volunteers contact him at his email listed below.

Hi All.

I'm putting together a web-based, in character, journal for players and Gm's alike to utilize as a resource for news, materials and fresh ideas.

The basic premise of The Luminary being that Théah has the printing press, plus plenty of 'adventurers' with causes, so why not have a publication which reflects this. Players will be able to gain more info on events across the world, plus can legitimately use it to provide PC's with more info.

Not sure what I'm talking about? Well, the format will probably be a 2-page affair with columns written by well-known and obscure members from across Théah. These could be on the latest court fashion, news from the war, inventions, secret messages in 'letters to the editor' adverts for gentleman's clubs, suppliers of the extraordinary and perhaps a guide to hotels and inns through various nations. There will probably be no rules attached (maybe a link to system/gm info). Each month (?) will see a new edition published and the writers becoming more established in their fields and personalities.

Like it? Good. Now all I need are a few more people to contribute some material. So whether you're a player and would like to serialize your diary, or perhaps want to point out some sights of wonder in the last city you traveled through then it's these ideas I'd like sent in. If you're a GM, then perhaps you'd care to take on the persona of a writer, or informed member of society to discuss a topic, say as a courtier reporting on political matters, or an Eisen mercenary relating his encounters with various creatures. Maybe even the KR&C has decided to employ a press-officer, or the Explorers are publishing some of their milder site reports.

Whatever ideas you have, even if you're unwilling to flesh them out yourself, then please send them in. Maybe characters in another campaign will be sitting round an inn table glancing through The Luminary reading the most recent exploits of your hero!
