NOMAD

A song for every avenue?
A desert where the rain-cloud comes
A parched land where no needle hides
A harsh land where seeds are buried

And nomad goes.

By harsh lands where no needle hides
By rusty ocean-sides
By cleft mountainsides
By moon-sunk moon

By, no nomad goes

Catch the sunken moon
Catch the ocean-splutter
Catch the hidden seeds
Catch my lilted song

Catch! no nomad goes

Ditch my crestfallen song
Ditch the rusty desert-dunes
Ditch the seeds where no rain comes
Ditch the parched land where seeds are buried

Ditch: no nomad goes

Empty crestfallen sea
Empty phantom ships
Empty windswept seeds
Empty moonstruck moon

Empty, no nomad goes

For my desert of rain-clouds
Catches the sunken moon
In song for every avenue
By harsh desert words

Where?--no nomad goes.
