High Goblin
The High Goblins (aka "Hobgoblins") were an advanced and superior breed of the regular goblins that live in Drakazoriem. The High Goblins opposed the Old Order and openly waged war to "defend the Homelands." Even a battered Old Order was too much for them; the High Goblins ceased to exist within twenty years. There are rumors that a few High Goblins still exist, although this is unconfirmed.
There are only a few sketches and drawings of High Goblins. With the exception of a few ancient elves, no one alive has ever actually seen a High Goblin. The race was apparently taller and more lithe than the common goblin. Their armor generally consisted of platemail and something called "recmail." Sickle-swords and long daggers were their weapons of choice. Short capes were color-coded to show rank.
Interestingly, all pictures of High Goblins feature gylphs on their armor. These symbols have unknown meanings and vary greatly. Some believe that the High Goblins used a variant of "Marking." |
