| Lyken Classification: Low-level living creation Other names: "Man-bat" Description: Five feet tall with over a dozen foot wingspan, lyken are inherently ugly bat-like monsters. Lyken are not particularly dangerous nor powerful, but their ability to grab people and drop them some distance away was infamous during the Dungeon Wars. They are the most basic and common air unit. They also have sharp fangs, which contrary to popular belief are not used to drink blood. They are a notorious pest for rangers, who have to shoot the beasts before they swoop down to grab their prey and fly off with them. Lyken can be trained to drop and/or carry objects, either for transportation or for use as a weapon. A common tactic is to fit lyken with pouches containing holding-cubes, allowing them to drop Old Order creatures behind enemy lines. The original lyken resembled flying anorexic barghests in the Dungeon Wars, but they have increasingly become like bats over time. |
