Vampire

The origins of the vampires has never been fully explained. It is believed that they were introduced to this world by the Old Order, although it is unknown if this was intentional or not. According to this theory, the vampires are from the same universe or dimension that the Elementals are from. This would explain why sunlight is fatal to them, at least.
The pale-skinned, red-eyed monsters feed on blood and can see in the darkh. They do not reproduce sexually, but instead will take corpses and sometimes even living people and put them through a secretive process that turns the victims into vampires.
Whatever the process is, "vampirization" involves not only external mutations but main alterations to the brain and other internal organs. The internal organs as a whole are now obsolete -- only the brain and a new organ located in the chest matter. The brain serves the same purpose it always did; the new organ is mysterious in is function but it is crucial for the creatures to exist. If either the brain or "heart" is damaged, the vampire may die.
Contray to popular belief, being bitten by a vampire does not make you one -- but it may kill you. Poison glands beneath their eyes feed their fangs with venom that can paralyze or kill.
They do not need to eat but have a complusive desire for blood. The blood may be used to make their venom.
Vampires are immortal unless either of their main organs are destroyed or if exposed to sunlight. They will rapidly decay and be reduced to dust, happening in only a few seconds.. If a limb is severed, it will decay while the vampire's main body will not.
Vampires are rumored to live on islands around Drakazoriem and the Isles of Evernight.
