Vespoi

Classification:
High-level living creation

Other names:
"Queen"
"Hive"

Description:
The vespois are bloated, floating creatures that lazily flap their wings and rudder-like tail. No one in the New Order definitively knows how a vespoi can stay in the air, but magic is the most likely answer.
Each vespoi is little more than an insect-producing "mothership." When released from a cube or commanded to do so, a vespoi will rapidly begin to produce finger-sized insects within itself. These bugs will be sprayed out at an enemy via the vespoi's snout.
These insects are not linked to the vespoi "queen" in any way, so even if the vespoi is killed its offspring will continue to function.
The insects, sometimes call
vespites, are individually annoying and fatal in large numbers. They pinch, stab and bite their enemy, draining blood as they do so. A medium-sized swarm can easily over-power a human or elf and suck the victim completely dry within three minutes.
Now some a tip to Death Wizards: Using a hunter/killer Fol to take out the insects is a good tactic, as the vespites are rather easy to drain. Unfortunately, there are usually hundreds of them spread out over a large area, so this will keep the Fol busy.
