Born in Sherbrooke, Garou lives in Montreal.
When he was 18 years old, he began to
sing in blues bars in Quebec.
Then, he created his own rythm'n blues
band called "Garou and the Untouchables". They went on tour during five
years, singing songs by Joe Cocker, James Brown, Otis Redding, etc.
The "Notre-Dame de Paris" concept album
is his first recording. An album with original songs is due to be released
in 1999.
