Tim Rice

1993 : Creation of TYCOON at the Mogador Theatre. It was performed every Friday evenings whereas STARMANIA was played the rest of the week. This English adaptation of STARMANIA was made by Tim Rice, who is also the author of many famous musicals such as "Jesus Christ Superstar" or "Evita", whose composer is Andrew Lloyd Webber.

"I've been invited to see Starmania at Théâtre de Paris in early 1989. At this time, the show was already a very rare thing since it was a real success in a town known for burrying musicals. I was delighted to adapt STARMANIA in English. The story written by Luc about a so-called perfect society, not so far from us in time and space, and which doesn't bring happiness neither to the priviledged nor to the inheritant, is timeless. And the music and the lyrics, who moved the whole France, memorable. We're currently working on a production of STARMANIA in Great Britain."
