Winning Streak has ended.
Written By Sheila Bachri
It has been a while since the last TV Coverage of Seattle Storm Game.
The moment finally arrive, where I can sit down and watch a LIVE game
from the comfort of my living room. The bad news was the rumor about
Lauren Jackson not feeling well. It seemed to be true, but we should
admire her effort on contributing 16 points, 6 blocks and 7 rebounds.
Last year MVP title was certainly not a coincident.
One thing that I can pin point is that Sue did not have a good shooting
night at all. She made 2 baskets only and 0-4 from 3-point-line. She
looked confuse at times and lost track of time before the half time
buzzer sounded off. Maybe the road trip worn her out a little, looking
forward to come home but found herself in an unsual hot climate in
Seattle.
Sheri Sam did a great job guarding Cheryl Swoopes in the first half,
not letting her get into the zone.
On the other hand, Sheila Lambert managed to break through Sue's
defense and scored consecutive points for Houston. Lambert, who was
originated from Seattle had quite a number of family and friends in
the audience, cheering her on. It finally got to a point where Sue
seemed to be hopeless out there. The speedy one, Tully Bevilaqua had
to come out and rescue her. She guarded Lambert and managed to stop
her scoring spree.
Betty Lennox played well, but had the most fouls among her teammates.
At one point of the game, she got hit with a loose ball and had to
sit for quite sometime while nurturing her nose for it to stop bleeding.
Seattle definitely missed her agility and offensive power during her
absence. Kamila Vodichkova did what Seattle needed her to do: rebounds.
Maybe not enough to win the game, but she certainly contributed a
lot to the team with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
This lost break Seattle's 6 winning streak, and became the first
home game defeat this season.
