Seattle Storm Humiliated Phoenix Mercury
at Key Arena
The Storm came out trailing by 7 points in the first couple of minutes,
but then stayed in cruise control, shooting 60% and destroyed the Mercury
by 41 points. They set various franchise records in one night. Lauren
Jackson once again showed why she is one of the best in the world and
the #1 draft pick of 2001. Sue Bird did not have many open looks, but
managed to contribute 6 points and 4 assists, while Michelle Marciniak
came up with 5 assists. Kamila Vodichkova accompanied Jackson with double
digits scoring. The Storm made a good choice of bringing Amanda Lassiter,
who is not only good for her size and rebounding, but she is a terrific
three points shooter as well. Simone Edwards was a great help off the
bench to complete the storm's inside play. The rest of the players came
out and each contributed something to make it a sweet home win for the
team. They will face the Houston Comets tomorrow and be ready for Sue
Bird's Bobblehead!
