Quality:

Show Quality means that the animal in question is free of disqualifications at the time of sale.  It is not indicative of it's show ability.

Brood quality means the animal is free from any genetic abnormalities.  It is not indicative of it's ability to breed or show.

Pet quality means that there are one or more genetic faults that would prevent the line from being showable.  Show or breed at your own risk.

The above definitions are not guarantees, but guidelines.  Should you discover a disqualification on a show quality animal, or genetic abnormality on a brood quality animal, then a similar quality replacement animal of my choosing will be offered.  The buyer has the right to refuse a replacement, but no refund will be offered in the event that the replacement is refused.  

Buyer has two weeks from time of purchase to notify me of any abnormalities or disqualifications.  The original animal in question must be returned to me prior to buyer receiving a replacement.  If the replacement animal is not picked up nor the original animal returned within two week's time, then the replacement will be believed to have been refused and transaction will be considered complete.  Every effort will be made to select potential replacements that will match the buyers original request.

No guarantee for quality is implied or expressed on any rabbit or cavy less than 6 months of age.  I do not guarantee dwarfism on dwarf rabbits less than 6 months of age.  I do not guarantee temperament on Havana rabbits less than 8 months of age.

Breeding:

That an animal has produced and/or raised live litters in the past is no guarantee they will continue to do so for the buyer.  I do not guarantee the ability of any animal to produce once it leaves my care.

In such cases where a rabbit or cavy is sold as a "bred animal" I cannot and will not guarantee a live litter for the new owner.  Once the animal has been transferred to the buyer, all responsibilities for the correct care and preparation to insure a live litter will be transferred to the buyer.

Health:

Animals are guaranteed to be healthy at the time of sale.  Buyer has two weeks from time of transferal to notify me of health problems or death of the animal.  In such cases a replacement animal of my choosing will be offered.  See above paragraph for replacement policy.  In the event that buyer refuses a replacement animal, no refunds nor monies to cover incurred vet costs will be provided.  Proof and probable cause (as determined by a vet) of death or illness will be required for replacement eligibility.  No replacement will be offered where neglect is determined to be the cause.   

Animals sold with known pre-existing conditions are exempted from the health guarantee and replacement policy.  The buyer will be notified of any known pre-existing conditions at the time of sale.  Often these animals are reduced in price and carefully placed.  Please do not ask for additional price breaks.

Monetary:

A 50% non-refundable reserve will be required to hold any animal for longer than 2 weeks.  All reserves will be considered forfeited after one month's time unless special exceptions have been made.

Prices are based on several factors including actual quality of the animal in question, lines, potential, rarity, and show proven animals (i.e. registered and/or show wins).  

Animals are not considered "reserved" until either a 50% deposit has been received, or specific plans have been made to view the animal(s) in question within two weeks time.

In the event that the buyer chooses to terminate an agreed sale, they forfeit any reserve, deposit, or monies paid toward the animals in question.

Effective immediately, personal checks will no longer be accepted for payment of any animals or equipment.  Cash, Money orders, or Paypal only.

EXCEPTION: Deposits may be paid by check ONLY when transferal is scheduled after the check has cleared.

Papers:

Pedigrees (where applicable) will be given to the buyer at the time of transferal.  Pet quality animals will not be offered with pedigrees.

Animals come with full 3-generation pedigrees unless otherwise stated.  Since some caviaries do not maintain pedigrees, the possibility for partial pedigrees on cavies is higher than that of rabbits.  Hamsters and chinchillas do not have pedigrees, though color genetic background, where known, can be provided.

Animals determined to be of pet quality DO NOT come with pedigrees, buyer assumes all risk should they choose to breed or show that animal, however at no time in the future will pedigrees be available on those animals.  Animals sold as pets, but which are not necessarily pet quality may or may not have pedigrees at the discretion of FAF.  If you intend to show or breed at any time in the future, please consider purchasing the right to a pedigree by selecting a better animal.

Rabbits:

I reserve the right to determine at what age my rabbits will be saleable.  Rabbits will not be available to leave until at least 8 weeks of age and have been determined by me to be able to withstand the stress of travel and a new environment.  This means that some rabbits may not be ready to leave until much older.  

I do NOT ship rabbits nor send them along ground travel until they are a minimum of 12 weeks of age, and are able to withstand the stress such travel exerts.

ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS

Cavies:

I reserve the right to determine at what age my cavies will be saleable.  No cavy under the age of 5 weeks will be eligible to leave, and only if they have been determined by me to be able to withstand the stress of travel.

Specialty cavies are not eligible for shipping at any time.  These include Skinny pigs and Skinny carrier pigs.

Hamsters/Other:

No hamsters will be available for sale until at least 4 weeks of age.  I do not guarantee gender on hamsters of any age.  I do not guarantee longevity on any hamster, though every effort will be made to ensure that only the healthiest animals are available.  I do not guarantee temperament on hamsters at any time, although every effort will be made to provide non-vicious hamsters.  Please remember though that hamsters are territorial creatures.  Territorial fighting, including toward it's owner, is not to be confused with viciousness!  

I do not sell hamsters to minors without express parental permission.  Once sold, hamsters are not eligible for refunds at any time.  Hamsters are NOT eligible for shipping.  Persons that purchase a breeding pair are expected to understand the potential for litters every three weeks.  Assistance will be available to aid a new breeder in their venture, but all placements of subsequent offspring will be the responsibility of the new owner.  I will not accept the consequences of failed breeding ventures!  If you are not prepared to handle numerous offspring, then it is strongly recommended to purchase a same-sex pair.

In the case of poultry and other avian: No birds will be eligible for shipping, Only feathered or "started" poultry will be available.  Delivery of birds to shows is extremely limited.  Pre-paid only for this option.  Our flocks are maintained for egg and young production, these are not show-birds.

Chinchilla prices are based on quality, color, rarity, and generally accepted levels seen throughout the fancy.  Chinchilla youngsters will be eligible for sale at 3 to 4 months of age.  Youngsters are expected to be few and far between.  Waiting list recipients will always have first option to buy.  Interested persons should contact FAF to be included on this list.  

Only the healthiest of Chinchilla babies will be offered.

Pets:

All pet quality animals are first come, first serve.  I do not hold pets.

Pet sales are considered a 'caveat emptor' purchase.  In general there are reasons animals are determined to be of pet quality.  Pet quality is not to be confused with pet sales.  

All sale animals may be purchased as pets, not all sale animals purchased as pets will be pet quality.

Every effort will be made to match pets with potential owners.  Please realize that not all matches will work out.  In such occurrences, FAF will accept returns of non-abused/neglected pets.  However, no refund of any monies will be offered back to buyer.  One pet exchange per buyer may also be considered (but not guaranteed) wherein FAF will accept the original (as determined by myself) non-abused/neglected pet in exchange for another available pet.

Please put care and effort into selecting your potential pet! 

Shipping:

Shipping is available for pre-paid rabbits & cavies only, and only for animals whose total cost exceeds $250.  Shipping can be done through Lynchburg International Airport.  Shipping fees may vary and must be paid in entirety by the buyer.

A shipping crate must also be provided by the buyer, I am willing to take care of ordering one, but cost for the 4-hole air approved carrier and feed/water cups plus shipping for the carrier will be the responsibility of the buyer.

Health certificates will be required for air travel, cost for obtaining these will be the responsibility of the buyer and may vary in price.

Costs for transporting animals to the airport will also be included and must be paid by the buyer.

Health certificates are usable for only 10 days after issuance, travel plans for cargo shipping can be made no more than 7 days in advance, carrier shipping may take up to 5 to 7 days from time of ordering.  I require full payment for animals, plus shipping and incidental costs a minimum of 5 days in advance of the determined ship date.  Checks are NOT accepted at any time for shipping payments or reserves for shipping.

ABSOLUTELY NO INTERNATIONAL SALES!!

General:

In the event that a reserved animal should perish prior to actual transferal, then buyer has the option to select a replacement animal from available stock.  If a replacement is not agreed upon within one month, then the reserve will be forfeited.  There is no refund offered in the event of the loss of the animal in question.

I understand that people search through the internet looking for any and all possibilities for locating the perfect rabbit/cavy/hamster/chinchilla/other animal that they can, and generally send contacts to as many as possible in the hopes they might find one or two.  Realize that I will respond to every e-mail inquiry, whether I have what you are searching for or not.  However, my time is precious and limited.  Everything I have available will be listed on this site.  Please take a moment to search through before sending an inquiry, and in inquiring be sure and mention exactly which animals you have the most interest.  If requesting to be added to my waiting lists, please include species, breed, variety, sex, quality, and age that you are most interested in having.  Thank you.
