More Serious
A somewhat apocryphal note
Pen and ink 8 1/2x11
1995

It is very rare that I document any of my drawings. Why I chose to do so with this one remains a mystery. The note reads:

"Not Everything I Do Is Serious" started out with the shape at left. The original intent was to do a new version of the Tarot card "The Tower." The first stage result was the foreground lattice which I then titled and dated.

Of course, a picture is never done until it's done, so the background landscape was added before I ever took the pencil lines out.

So, all of a sudden, as my beautiful Jessica observed:

"It's a rock formation behind a spider-web."

Cool.

P.S. Can you find it?
