Personality: Zack is friendly; he enjoys being part of Starfleet and knows the 'line' between a Captain and his crew. He sees it as his duty to carry on the proud tradition of Starfleet in his family. He is easy to get along with and is very protective of his family and close friends.

Brief History:
Born the only boy in his family and the eldest by a few minutes, Zack was all a ‘show off’ and always trying to get his parents’ attention. By the time he was fifteen Zack was known as the sporty one out of his family, he was the captain of the football squad and captain of the school basketball team. At this age his parents called it his maturing stage, he became very protective of both of his siblings and for his sixteenth birthday his mother took him on his first trip outside of Earth and, took him to Mars to see the Utopia Plantia shipyards. Zack had always believed that day was his most memorable. By the time he was to leave high school he was offered a position at a number of Sporting Colleges, but after several months of attending one of these colleges in France, he decided to quit at the horror of his parents who both thought it would be the greatest thing for him to do. But when he told them what he wanted to do, it split his parents up on his choice. He had decided to join Starfleet Academy, his mother a Starfleet Officer encouraged it while his father was not pleased. Zack did have several arguments with his father over his choice which lead to him not speaking to his father for five years.
While at the academy he became interested in his science lessons, mainly cultural anthropology, languages and an interest in Starfleet History. He remained active with his sports by becoming the captain of the velocity team and he even resurrectted basketball as a sport to be played at the academy. After the academy he impressed a number of his Instructors, that a number of them sent him straight to command school for three years. After nearly eight years in class rooms and lectures Zack was given a post on the Steamrunner class USS Faroh. He was assigned as assistant chief communications officer with the rank of lieutenant junior grade. After two year service on the Faroh as its assistant chief communications officer he was given the position as chief communications officers after the previous communications officer was assigned as the Faroh’s executive officer. Three more years and Zack left the Faroh with the rank of Lieutenant Commander and assigned to Starbase 001, Spacedock orbiting Earth.
By this time the Borg War was in full heat and Zack was assigned as the Chief Liaison officer to the new members of the Federation, mainly dealing with the Romulans, Klingons and Gorn.
When the battle of Sector 001 occurred Zack was already in command of a Defiant class starship, named the USS Brewster. The Brewster was heavily damaged during the battle but Zack was able to survive the fight with minimal losses to his crew. The Brewster was abandoned and later took in to Drydock to be repair and assigned to the Earth Defence Fleet. For two years after the Battle of Sol Zack was stationed at Starfleet Command working with representives from the Dominion to bring them closer in to the Federation. Now after his promotion in 2399, to Captain one year on Fleet Admiral Picard has ordered Zack to take command of the first ever Starbase built after the Borg War, Deep Space One.
