SHUTTLECRAFT

Deep Space One is outfitted with a limited variation in its shuttlecraft classes. This is due to the Briar Patch 'Effect', where only few shuttlecraft can achieve full impulse due to their modified impulse manifolds.

RUNABOUTS

Like shuttlecraft, Deep Space One is equipped with a limited number of Runabouts. The primary role of the Runabouts assigned to Deep Space One is for protection. Again like their shuttlecraft counterparts the impulse manifolds have been modified to adapt to the Briar Patch 'effect'.

Shuttlebay

The Shuttlebay is situated in the Upper Saucer Section of Deep Space One, on levels two through four. The shuttlebay is the re-use of the USS Cario's secondary shuttlebay, with extensions and upgrades. From here shuttlecraft maintance can be carried out, and with time construction of shuttles will be allowed.

Four Large Doors allow for the shuttles to pass in and out of Deep Space One, with emergency landing facilities and tractor beams available to control shuttlecraft entrances and exits.

Runabout Pads

The Runabout Pads are located on deck two, each one is catered for the different class of runabouts assigned to Deep Space One. They have the ability to lower and raise runabouts in to the Runabout bay where like the Shuttlebay maintances, repairs are available.

Work Bees

Deep Space One is outfitted with twenty five standard workbees. These work bees are stacked in the shuttlebay and are able to leave via the shuttlebay doors. They are used to repair, install or maintain any of the outer hull or systems of Deep Space One while in space.
