DEDICATION:

This website is dedicated to the attendees, graduates, teachers and staff of Charles Allen Brown High School of Charleston, SC. It is created to serve the greater C. A. Brown community and Brownites all over the world.

SITE MISSION STATEMENT:

The Ferguson Family Charles A. Brown High School website is here to inform the world that there once was a great African American high school on the East Side of Charleston that produced great alumni and citizens. We are great contributors to our community, society, country, and world. With our intellect, talent, strength, hard work, blood, sweat and tears we have secured our place in the world. With God's help, we are a great people from a great school.

- In our oasis of learning, we achieved because of our teachers' faith in us. -

- In our society at large, we achieved in spite of our community's lack of faith in us. -

C. A. BROWN ALMA MATER

Written By Hedy Brown (c. 1963)

(To the tone of "Londonderry Air" also called "Danny Boy")

[To hear an instrumental version of the Alma Mater, click here]

Verse 1
Dear C. A. Brown, oh how, oh we love you.
We love you true, your alma mater too.
And with your help, well climb the ladder of success.
Remembering you helped us to do the rest.

Choru 1:
Dear C. A. Brown, forwever we will think of thee.
Remembering all the times we spent with you.
Dear C. A. Brown, well love you more and more each day.
Until the ties that binds us all will roll away.

Verse 2
Dear C. A. Brown, when time has passed and you grow old.
We won't forget the good you've done for us.
And we will love you more and more each passing day.
Remembering you helped us to pave the way.

Chorus 2:
Dear C. A. Brown, forwever we will think of thee.
Remembering all the times we spent with you.
Dear C. A. Brown, well love you more and more each day.
Until the ties that binds us all will roll away.
Until the ties that binds us all will roll away

CHARLES A. BROWN HIGH SCHOOL FACULTY AND ALUMNI WHO HAVE PASSED

- GOD BLESS YOU AS YOU REST IN THE ARMS OF THE LORD -

Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (1 Corinthians 15:51-52)
