Waima - Hokianga
Waima, Hokianga is a small settlement to the West of Kaikohe.

Ko Whakatere-Manawa-Kaiaiai te Maunga,
Ko Uewhati te Tangata rongonui,
Ko Okahu te Urupa,
Ko Ngatokimatawhaorua te waka.

I te taha o toku whaea,
Ko Otatara te Marae,
Ko Waima te awa i whakapiri.

I te taha o toku matua,
Ko Raukura te Marae Tuatahi,
Ko Waima te awa i whakapiri hoki,
Ko Tuhirangi te Marae Tuarua,
Ko Waimikaramihi te awa i whakapiri,
I roto te ruiroa, ka noho a Moehau,
Ko Moehau te awa i whakapiri.
Waima nestles at the foot of the mountain Whakatere-Manawa-kaiaiai,between the Mountains Puhanga-tohora in Otua, and Ramaroa in Whirinaki.

It has no store, no garage, post office or any other building of note to identify it.  The last of these types of business disappeared in the 1990s.

It has significance for me as my parents both lie in the cemetery there.  I spent many childhood days roaming around the land.

My Great x3 Grandparents on my mother's side bought land there, and started one of the Biggest Family groups there - the Cassidy's.
