A Man of God
by Barbara Philbrook

A man of God spoke to me last night,
and what he said filled my heart with delight,

He said God told him to anoint us one and all the same,
before that we were our greatest desire to name.

Just quietly so, only God could hear,
not anyone else, not even those who stood quite near.

I thought my desire so it was just between God and me,
Joe started the anointing, I was to be number three.

He placed his hand gently on my brow as he whispered low,
the very thing I had thought God had allowed him to know.

Into the very depth of my heart's desire he was allowed to see,
only by the power of God could this possibly be.

God used this man to let me know of His great and mighty love once more,
to let me know I have not reached the heights of joy He has in store.

To remind me that I have much more yet to learn,
and that He cares about the things for which I deeply yearn.

God never stops, His blessings just keep pouring out so abundantly,
never had I ever dreamed anyone could care so much about me.

That God cares what matters in my own personal life,
that He sends someone with a message to remove inner strife.

That God would take time to give hope of more happiness to me,
is beyond anything I could have been allowed to foresee.

New anticipation is what I have received last night,
I know it is forthcoming and wait with great delight.

God has the very same in store for you,
inviting Him into your heart is the only thing you must do
