A Simple Mistake
by Barbara Philbrook

A simple mistake is what I've made,
but oh the cost that is to be paid.

I was careless and wrote the wrong thing,
now I must reap the results it will bring.

There are people to whom I must explain,
it's my own doing so I can't complain.

They'll be expenses I'll incur as a result,
but that I'll be more careful I have no doubt.

I thought I was using such caution before,
but this one little error shows I need more.

Lord forgive any inadequacy in me,
and help me to become all that I can be

Help me to learn from this mistake,
teach me that a little extra time I must take.

Give me the wisdom and discernment I require,
so that complete service to You is to what I may aspire.
