As We Celebrate
by Barbara Philbrook

As we celebrate Jesus' birth this year,
let's determine to share with the world God's loving care.

How about giving to those who have the greatest need?
Is there a hungry soul whom I can feed?

Is there someone who is suffering from the cold?
Can't I wear last years coat it's not so old?

Is there someone in need of the gifts under my tree?
Someone who needs them more than me?

Father teach me the real meaning of Christmas this year.
I've been rather selfish in the past I fear.

I've worried if the gifts I gave were sufficient,
hoping no one thought my love for them deficient.

Have I instilled in each the true meaning of the day,
or have I been negligent in some way?

Help me to right any wrong done by me.
Give me the way to open their eyes so they may see.

See the true meaning of Christmas Day,
and how we can celebrate it in a proper way.
