A Gift of Life
by Barbara Philbrook

Jesus came to this earth in order to make the payment for our sinful behavior,
and in so doing he became our loving Savior.

Why you ask did he do this amazing thing for people who are guilty of sin,
the fact is there's a whole new world waiting for us but we are not worthy to enter in.

You see the price of sin is death never the new world to see,
but Jesus came and lived the sinless life and was crucified to pay the price for you and me.

All we have to do to receive the gift is to accept it there is no price for us to pay,
just as of I held in my hand money and offered it to you once you accepted it  no longer in my hand would it stay.

The gift of eternal life is being offered to one and all,
won't you tell our Savior you accept  his gift he's anxiously awaiting your call.

Three days after his death he rose from the dead and showed himself to those who'd given him love, then as predestined he went to be with his father above.

Why you ask did this all come to pass in precisely this way,
look in your bible and see what the prophets of the old testament had to say.

He's gone to be with his father and building mansions in which we'll all be able to live I'm told,
another fact which surprises me  the streets there are paved in gold.

Never again in sorrow will a single teardrop by any of us be shed,
there will be no pain for any of us to suffer joy and happiness will fill our hearts instead.

Even the newborn baby lamb will have nothing from the lion to fear,
no they'll both lay lovingly in a field together only tenderness to share.

Oh won't you accept the gift Jesus is offering freely to you,
I have and I'd really be happy if  when Jesus calls us you were there too.
