While she can't hear the music, Patricia Jacobs has no trouble with
Scottish country dancing
On a recent Friday night, Patricia Jacobs smiled broadly as she danced a
reel with her husband Luke during their standing weekly date for Scottish
country dancing. Watching the pair twirl around the dance floor with the other
couples, you wouldn't guess that Pat Jacobs is deaf.
"When I attended a Scottish Country Dance class with my husband, I
immediately knew that I would love learning it, " said Jacobs through ASL,
with her husband acting as an interpreter.
Pat said, "Many hearing people think deaf people can't dance because they can't hear the music, but they have the feeling to dance. It is more of a body language."
