Developed along the lines of the famous G-11, the G-6K2 is a heavy squad automatic weapon featuring a ceramic bullpup frame. Other weight saving measures have been introduced to lighten the overall weight, through the use of high strength plastics. Unlike other medium machine guns, it fires the caseless 5.56mm x 33mm CG1545 round, allowing commanality of ammunition with most firearms. This is slightly lighter in punch, but still is capable for the G-6K2 and when used. The forward portion of the weapon mounts a forward folding bipod for stability when firing prone. Mounted behind that is a vertical handgrip allowing comfortable fire from the hip. Additional recoil reducing measures include shock pads on the butt of the weapon, as well as a firing brace to ensure proper seating of the weapon when fired. One innovative system deisgned to reduce the recoil is the highly advanced Electronic Recoil Adjuster*. This is preset to reduce the recoil of the weapon when carried. Mounted on the top is an Image Magnification-3 scope. A Smartlink II is fitted combined with a rangefinder to offer better accuracy against targets. However, the scope can be switched out for a different type of sighting accessory. This can be modified with an adaptor to allow the use of the K6 sight. Additionally, the weapon can fire in all three modes to offer a selectable way of engaging targets and ammunition conservation. As part of the HK G-6K2 package, it comes with a specialized ammunition holder that holds eight ammuntion clips double stacked rows. This is usually strapped onto the back, to allow backpacks, and other gear to be mounted without any problem, and is flexible enough not to hinder the gunner's movement. It weighs 1 kg, and is obvious when worn, but under clothes, has a concealability of 3.

The weapon offers 2 points when the bipod is deployed, and 2 points from the shock pads on the stock. The Electronic Recoil Adjuster is preset to allow 6 points of recoil compensation. The firing brace gives a -1 to target numbers when used.
