Description

This is the highest of awards in Starfleet. It is given in the name of the Federation to officers and enlisted members who distinguished themselves by extraordinary gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of their lives, above and beyond the call of duty, in action involving actual combat with an armed enemy of the Federation.

It is awarded for heroism, not justifying the award of a Medal of Valor, to any person, who while serving with Starfleet while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing force, or while serving with friendly forces engaged in conflict against an opposing Armed Force in which the Federation is not a belligerent party.

This decoration is awarded to members of Starfleet who distinguished themselves by exceptional service to the Federation in a duty of great responsibility, in peacetime.

This medal is to award units which have distinguished themselves by exceptionally meritorious service or outstanding achievement that clearly sets the unit above and apart from similar units, the services include; performance of exceptionally meritorious service, accomplishment of a specific outstanding achievement of national or international significance, combat operations against an armed enemy of Starfleet, or military operations involving conflict with or exposure to hostile actions by an opposing foreign force.

This award is conferred on any person wounded in action while serving with in Starfleet. It is also awarded posthumously to the next of kin of personnel killed or having died of wounds received in combat. It is awarded for wounds or death as result of an act of any opposing Armed Force, as a result of an intergalactic terrorist attack or as a result of military operations while serving as part of a peacekeeping force.

It is awarded to Starfleet personnel for outstanding achievement or meritorious service rendered specifically on behalf of the Federation in combat situations. It may also be awarded for acts of courage lesser than for award of the Federation Distinguished Combat Service Medal.

This ribbon is awarded to civilian members of the Federation who participate, or have participated, as members of Starfleet military units, in a Starfleet military operation that is deemed to be a significant activity by the Admiralty.

The award recognizes acts of heroism performed in ground combat if they are of lesser degree than that required for the Federation Unit Commendation Medal. It also recognizes acts of merit and meritorious service if the achievement or service is of a lesser degree than that deemed worthy of the Federation Distinguished Combat Service Medal; but such service must have been accomplished with distinction.

It is awarded to Starfleet personnel for excellent service rendered specifically on behalf of the Federation in shuttlecraft combat situations. It may also be awarded for acts of courage lesser than for award of the Starfleet Comand Combat Ribbon.

This ribbon is awarded to Starfleet members for meritorious service on a starbase lasting no less than 5 years.

It is awarded to Starfleet personnel for excellent service rendered specifically on behalf of the Federation while assigned to a starbase during combat situations. It may also be awarded for acts of courage lesser than for award of the Starfleet Comand Combat Ribbon.

This decoration is awarded to members of Starfleet who distinguished themselves by exceptional service to the Federation as explorers for a period of not less than 5 years.

It is awarded for combat service in the defense of the planet Vulcan if the person was assigned or stationed on Vulcan during any period of armed combat on the planet.

This ribbon is awarded to Starfleet members for non-combat service on Vulcan lasting no less than one year.

This ribbon is awarded to Starfleet members for service on the Klingon Homeworld lasting no less than one year.

It is awarded for combat service in the defense of the Klingon Homeworld if the person was assigned or stationed on the Klingon Homeworld during any period of armed combat on the planet.

This medal is to recognize units or crews which have distinguished themselves by good service or achievement lesser than that for the Federation Unit Commendation Medal.

This decoration is awarded to Commanding Officers of Starfleet who distinguished themselves by exceptional command service to the Federation for a period of not less than 10 years.

This decoration is awarded to Starfleet Freighter Commanding Officers who distinguished themselves by exceptional command service to the Federation for a period of not less than 10 years.

It is awarded to Starfleet personnel for achievement or meritorious service for a period of not less than 5 years.

This ribbon is awarded to Starfleet members for service on Alpha III lasting no less than 2 years.

Awarded to any service member or former service member of Starfleet who completes or has completed a total of 10 years of honorable and satisfactory military service in one or more Reserve components of Starfleet. This service does not need to be consecutive as long as service occurs within a period of 12 consecutive years.

Awarded to any Starfleet member who completes, or has completed 25 years of honorable and satisfactory military service in one or more components of Starfleet. This service does not need to be consecutive as long as service occurs within a period of 30 consecutive years.

It is awarded to Starfleet personnel for achievement or meritorious service for a period of not less than 2 years.
