AAUW's 21st Century Vision Woman-to-Woman The Stuart Area Branch convened their first Woman-to-Woman Forum on March 23, 2000. The main objective of the forum was to network with a diverse group of women representing varied interests and affiliations within their community in a dialogue on social justice issues. Meeting, talking, and listening produced an exchange of ideas, frustrations, and passions that promises to be a catalyst for future action. Due to a limited timeframe, the agenda did not reach closure but reflected a first step towards creating an on going dialogue. In fact, the second forum held on May 9th, brought out additional community leaders and focused on another issue of concern in their community. Stuart Area Branch has established new alliances in areas of common concern. Shared ideas have generated the seeds of on going Woman-to-Woman Forums. It is their intent to keep the dialogue going. By talking and listening to one another and celebrating our lives as women, we can benefit not only ourselves but also our families and our communities. Fall 2000 FloriVision |
