About the author, Melissa Masterson
Melissa Masterson is a former police
sergeant and field training officer, who served on a city department
as well as a sheriff's department. She is the owner of Southwest
Freelance, and her writing and photographs have appeared in
many newspapers, journals, and magazines across the United States.
A graduate of the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy, New Mexico
Junior College, and College of the Southwest, she currently teaches
English at a junior high school in New Mexico.
