We Are Going On A Mission!

Who Is Going?

The Catholic Heritage Club at Fairmont Senior High School is going on a mission trip!

My name is Ryan Rosier and I created this website to raise awareness about our mission trip. Also going is fellow student Anthony Alvaro, my teacher Jeanina Butcher-Ice and her husband Jim, my teacher Diana Munza, Carol Hoffman, and trip organizers Brian Feldmeier and Jessica Schroer. Upon arriving in Honduras, we will be meeting up with David Logue, an American missionary who runs a boys home in Honduras, and Alana Neptune, an American missionary who attends college in Managua.

Where Are We Going?

We are going to Honduras in Central America, to a region called La Moskitia in the Eastern part of Honduras.

When Are We Going?

We are going over Spring Break... April 12-April 21, 2014.

What Are We Going To Do?

We are planning to do lots of mission activities in La Moskitia! We are building houses, hosting a Community Day in La Moskitia, organizing an Ice Cream Social at a children's home, distributing care packages at a hospital, repairing 2 children's homes, painting/repairing a school in La Moskitia, taking a boat down a river to deliver food bags to a needy community, and sponsoring schooling for a student. On Easter Sunday, we will be celebrating at an orphanage called Didasko with an Easter Egg Hunt (with treat-filled eggs for the local children) and lunch.

What are the costs?

(Our group is providing and packaging the items for the care packages to be distributed at the hospital.)

How Can You Help?

If you would like to donate to this worthy cause, you can make a tax deductible donation. Checks can be written to St. Vincent DePaul Church and mailed to Brian Feldmeier, 310 Main Street, New Martinsville, WV 26155.

This area is an economically-depressed third world country, and the children and families desperately need our help! 100% of our donations are used to fund the projects that benefit these locals. (We are responsible for paying for our own food, shelter, and transportation on this mission.) If we do not raise enough money, some of these projects must be dropped. If more money is raised, additional projects will be added!

*To my friends and family, if you make a donation please send me an email at [email protected] so I can be sure that you receive something in the future!*

Want To Follow Our Journey?

I will be posting pictures and information throughout our trip. I will post links under this section that will have pictures and comments detailing the day to day events of our journey.

I'm sorry I haven't been able to post anything, the wifi here is very bad and spotty. Jessica can use her data to update her blog so you can follow the trip at http://jlschroer76.tumblr.com.

Also, here is a link to what has happened so far on our trip.

Thank you, and always remember...
