Comments: SUBJECT: Volunteer Appreciation Week at Leonard Wesson Elementary School Leonard Wesson Elementary School has designated April 24 - 28, 2000 as Volunteer Appreciation Week at the school. Teachers and students will be expressing their thanks throughout the week to the mentors/tutors who contribute their time, energy, and enthu iasm in support of Wesson students. The week will conclude with a very special Volunteer Appreciation Day on Friday, April 28. All DMS employees are invited to attend the Volunteer Appreciation Day celebration that will take place at the school (2813 South Meridian Street, Tallahassee) between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Hot dogs with all the "trimmings" will be served, so please plan t spend your lunch time that day at Wesson. JAMZ 96.1 and GROOVIN' 106 will provide entertainment, and a crew from one of the TV stations will be on-site also. Your attendance will give Wesson students, faculty, and administrators a great deal of pleasu e and the opportunity to publicly acknowledge the import role that mentors/tutors play in the success of students and the overall school program. Mentor/tutors from Transportation, Labor, and Elder Affairs will be present also, as well as representatives from the Governor's Office and the Leon County School District offices.
