Fudo Ken Ryu 2nd Kick Tag Kumite Championship
Sunday 3rd June was Fudo Ken Ryu's 2nd Kick Tag Kumite Championship, which was held at Crook Log Sports Centre, and saw around 50 students from all of our clubs competing. The day was very competitive, in all categories, with a high level of skill on display making the judges job extremly hard.

The first event was Kata with some of the students looking nervous, as the day went on the nerves went, and everyone enjoyed the day. Team Kumite boys and girls the Under 11's and over 11's singles kumite semi-finals where before lunch. After lunch was a short display of ladies self defence which went down will and had some of the spectators asking about class. There was all so an adults club champioship bout, between Keith and Phil, with the first two rounds evey close it was the last round that saw Phil win with two take-downs.

The Team Kick Tag Kumite was the last team event of the day with the over 11's allowed to do take-downs in the third round, which was followed by the under 11's and over 11's boys and girls singles kumite final's, the last event of the day. The judging, as with all the other events, was very difficult with very little separating the winners.

The day ended with the presentation of the medals, with the Bexley club topping the medals table, Hartley next and Bexleyheath coming in third.

Will don to all who took part, it was an enjoyable day, and lets not forget the time keeps, judges and referees, whos job was not easy.
