INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF FUNGI AND FIBRE | |||||||||||||||||
IFFF meets somewhere in the world every two years. It has a Board of Representatives with one member from each participating country. In 2001 we had 12 countries represented. IFFF was begun at 9th International at Honefoss, Norway to study the use of mushroom as dye and artist mediums. Mushrooms are some of the most color/light/washfast colorants in the world. They have been tested repeatedly by various scientists around the world. The Symposiums have grown through the years and study has expanded to papermaking with mushrooms, dyeing wool, silk cotton, reindeer skin, and other assorted materials. Watercolors and crayons have been developed. Papers, books, and videos have been produced, yarns and fibers dyed, and many decorative items produced, all using mushrooms or their pigments. |
