| NEWS 3: Sky are at it again - cutting The Simpsons! You may not know this, but between 1990 and 2000 Sky and BBC cut out enough of their Simpsons episodes to fill an 18-hour video tape. In long play. The Snipsons listed all of the cuts up to 2000, but is now never updated (in fact, that link's been dead for years), although there has only been the odd cut since then. Anyway, I've noticed a few cuts that Sky have made recently - some to new episodes, some to repeats (they would have cut all the old ones out originally, but should have reinstated the lost footage by now!) ---------------------------- SEASON 5: The Boy Who Knew Too Much THE ONE WHERE Bart witnesses an incident where Freddy Quimby attacks a waiter. Or doesn't, as the case may be. On a terrible school day: MRS KRABAPPEL Now unfortunately, our school clocks have been running fast all semester, so today we all have to stay two extra hours to make up for the time we lost. Hah! (Everyone moans, and Bart looks at the 'Lil Bastard Clock Tampering Kit' in his desk and regrets using it.) (Sky covered over the words 'Lil Bastard', leaving just a space) ---------------------------- SEASON 6: A Star Is Burns THE ONE WHERE they have a film festival. Marge is watching Jay Sherman's movie show where they're looking at Ranier Wolfcastle's new film: (McBain has a microphone, and stands in front of a brick wall) MCBAIN Did you ever notice how men always leave the toilet seat up? (pause) That's the joke. MAN (from audience) You suck, McBain! (McBain pulls a machine gun and fires into the audience) MCBAIN Now, my Woody Allen impression: (not changing his voice) I'm a neurotic nerd who likes to sleep with little girls. MAN (from audience) Hey, that really sucked! (McBain pulls the pin on a grenade and tosses it at him) Originally they cut out the gun bit too. ---------------------------- SEASON 6: Who Shot Mr Burns? (part 1) THE ONE WHERE Mr Burns gets shot, obviously. At the meeting, the townspeople are listing what Burns cost them: GRAMPA Because of him, I lost my room, my things, and my buddy's collection of old sunbathing magazines. CRAZY OLD MAN You bastard! ---------------------------- SEASON 7: Homerpalooza THE ONE WHERE In an attempt to stay cool, Homer takes the kids to Lollapalooza -- sorry, 'Hullabalooza', but is outcast (until he becomes part of the freakshow). In anger, Homer kicks a cannon, which goes haywire. After several bursts, it shoots its bullet right into Homer's stomach. After bouncing off and falling on the ground, the bullet breaks open, revealing an inflatable pig, which soars in the sky: TECH Aw, man. There goes Peter Frampton's big finale.
