RULES & REGULATIONS

 

 

Little Sandy Raceway rules are developed to promote safe, competitive racing.  They are not to be construed as a guarantee against injury or death to a spectator or participant.  No warranties are expressed or implied to safety from the results of this publication.  It is up to the individual to determine if conditions of the track or facilities are safe and suitable for their participation.  If at any time the participant finds a condition they believe to be unsafe or unsuitable for continued participation, he/she agrees to immediately vacate the race facility.  Rules and Regulations are subject to change without notice.

 

REGISTRATION

1.        All drivers & riders must sign liability waiver at time of registration and before any pass down the track.

2.        Give number to tower and/or get number & place on right side and front of vehicle.  No duplicate numbers will be allowed.  Temporary numbers will be issued but a permanent number will be expected by next event entered.  Once a number has been issued this number should be used for the rest of the season.  Numbers MUST be legible and easily read from tower.  Minimum size is six (6) in. tall and three (3) inches wide with stroke of number no less than ¾ inch.  Vehicles displaying more than one number or vehicle with no number will not be allowed on track and are subject to disqualification.  Vehicles with numbers that cannot be read from the tower will not receive a number on time slip and will not get a rerun.  Numbers placed on upper surface of vehicles or numbers obstructed from view by any means are not acceptable.

 

BRACKETS

1.        Brkt.1 (4.99 & faster), Brkt.2 (5.00 to 6.49), Brkt.3 (6.50 & slower)-Can only redial out of brkt.1/10 of second- (ex: brkt.2-4.90 to 6.59)

2.        Jr. ATV’S (15 & under).

3.        Pee Wee (9 & under) 125cc or less

4.        Adult ATV’S (30 or more – 2 brkts.)

 

STAGING

1.        You have 3 minutes from “Last Call” to get to staging lane.

2.        You have 30 seconds to stage when you are waved to the starting line.

3.        Do not roll through the staging light prior to actual staging.

4.        Red lights or staging fouls are caused by the driver or the vehicle staging with the body panels or undercarriage. It is up to the driver to make corrections by staging correctly (no feather or deep staging) or have correct staging device.  Any staging device must be rigidly and securely mounted to the vehicle.  Should be a min. of 16 inches long and extend from the front of the vehicle rearward to the front wheels.

5.        No one is allowed to physically help you stage your vehicle.

 

TIME TRIALS

1.        3 time trials permitted per entry (unless changed by track official).  Additional time trials must be approved by track officials.

2.        Track Record can be set any time, during any event and must be backed up within 1%.

3.        Once the beam is broken for the second time trial no refunds will be given.

 

BYE RUNS

1.        If needed, a bye will be chosen by tower & run last in the class or as needed.

2.        Driver or rider must make all bye runs.

3.        If you get disqualified for any reason, you do not advance.

 

RE-RUNS

1.        Re-runs do happen.

A.  Equipment malfunction.

         B.  Tower Error.  (Final decision made by track official)

2.        All re-runs and back-to-back runs will be given time to cool, if needed. (Max.10 min. from last run on time slip.  Cooling time only).

3.        All re-runs must be raced in the original lane (unless tower error is involved).

4.        There will be no re-runs due to a staging fowl. (See #4 under staging)

 

RED LIGHT

1.        Red light means automatic loss unless the opposing racer fails to finish race under its own power within 2 minutes or is disqualified for other reasons.

2.        If both red lights start flashing back out & wait for instructions.

LANE CHOICE

1.        Low E.T. gets lane choice.

2.        If you think the spot is wrong, signal track officials for verification

 

DIAL-INS

1.        Dial-in cannot be changed until each race phase is completed except on special races that are approved by track official.

2.        Dial-in can be changed for TOP ELIMINATOR RACE.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

SAFETY

1.        Drivers & riders must wear helmet and safety belts, and both must be FASTENED.  A 4-point safety harness is mandatory for all vehicles 4.99 & faster & a 5-point is recommended.  Stock seat belts should only be used in stock equipment.

2.        Return lane and pit area speed limits are 5 MPH & ENFORCED.

3.        All vehicles should have a working taillight.

4.        No loose objects in or on vehicle.

5.        Roll Cages:  Any non-street legal vehicle faster than 4.99 must have a ROLL CAGE!  No open tops permitted in any class without adequate ROLL CAGE! (Example:  Blazer or Bronco, if the top is off you must have roll cage). All roll cages must be attached to the frame and not the floorboard.

6.        Any race vehicle being run in pits, staging area (or anywhere on the facility) must have a responsible person capable of handling the vehicle seated in the driver’s position.  Trans Brake and Clutches should only be checked in returns headed away from the pits.  ABSOLUTELY NO BURN OUTS!!!

7.        All batteries must be securely bolted down.  Batteries in the driver’s compartment must be covered sufficiently.  No rubber straps or cords allowed.

8.        Gas Tanks must be securely bolted.  No rubber straps or cords allowed.

9.        No electrical conduit frames in automotive (car) classes.  All main frames & roll cages must be of mild steel or chromoly.

10.     Vehicles must be inspected once a year.  Any new vehicle must be inspected before it is allowed to run. It is the responsibility of the driver and/or owner to comply with all rules.  It is not the responsibility of the of race or tech officials to insure that the entrant has all the required equipment.  Any changes made to vehicle must be reinspected.

 

GROUNDS FOR DISQUALIFICATION

1.        Speeding in any area other than track.

2.        Turning tailspins, popping wheelies, or doing burn outs in any area.

3.        Intoxication or radical behavior.

4.        Hitting track equipment. (Includes cones and guardrail)

5.        Arguing with track officials.

6.        No Delay Boxes. No electronic delay device, which is keyed to or triggered by the starting or timing system is allowed and may be checked at any time.  Such a device in the vehicle, working or not, is grounds for disqualification unless approved by track official for special events.

7.        Using any race vehicle other than the one registered in your name to complete a race.

8.        You will be disqualified if you refuse track official decisions.

 

DETERMINATION OF WINNER

1.        If a double breakout occurs the driver who broke out by the least amount wins.

2.        If one car breaks out and the other is disqualified, the breakout is the winner & advances.
