Hobbies & interests - Playing tennis and running half marathons are two
of Gabby’s favourite hobbies. She also has a keen interest in travelling. Gabby's favourite football team are Newcastle United (from her days as a student at Durham University
Her other interests include Yoga and alternative
health issues. Gabby is much in demand for award ceremonies, motivational
speaking and personal appearances. She had the distinction of being the first
ever host of the televised BAFTA Craft Awards for the Millennium. She also
was the first woman to present a live terrestrial football match when covering
Chelsea vs. Spurs in January 2002.…
We all know and love Gabby most famously as the daughter of ex-Wales manager
Terry Yorath, and for presenting ITV Sport's "On the Ball". Another, less
publicised side of Gabby is her charity involvement. She has been a keen
supporter of efforts to help the homeless, and has spent previous Christmas
Times on the streets of London with her husband Kenny giving up some of her own time in the
homeless shelters run by Crisis and generally raising awareness.
Gabby has yet another hidden talent - she has also appeared on ITV's "Stars
in their eyes" programme as Sharleen Spiteri from Scottish band Texas, singing
"Say what you want" - visit the "Video & audio" page to hear this. A fine performance it was too, and I reckon she was
robbed of winning - losing out to Debra Stephenson doing a very bad Kylie
Minougue, but showing a lot more leg than Gabby. Now if Gabby had decided
to do Britney Spears "Hit me Baby one more time" instead, I'm sure there'd have been a very different
result...!
