Yes, perhaps Joey Mead was never meant to be a Miss Philippines, but ne-vertheless, what would have she looked like had she won the Miss Philip-pines Universe title? From a white faux pearl encrusted hea-vily beaded creation (right), reminiscent of Muslim inspired costumes to the black number (far right), Joey just looks spectacular! This is simply a ter-rible loss to the Miss Philippines organiza-tion! A bright girl with world class looks and an interna-tional appeal shun-ned away by the organizers. Boooo!!! |

Joey not only has the looks to easily walk away with the Miss Philippines Universe title, but also a big chance to take home the big one; none other than the Miss Universe title itself! At far left, Joey rea-dily takes on some ethnic flavor mimic-ing the classy style of India's queens. A white number simi- lar to the one above makes its message clear enough: "I'm a beauty queen!" Joey is a true chameleon, as these computer generated make- overs testify. What-ever she does, what-ever she decides to wear, she wears it well. Though these outfits are revealing, they don't come ac-ross as indecent at all. Clothes assume the personality of the wearer; wear it well, and all will be swell ! |

Combine Imee Martinez's classic looks, well chisel-ed features, and refined grace with a traditional Maria Clara dress below, and presto! Miss Philip-pines in a one of a kind national costume! Wow! |

IMEE MARTINEZ & MICHELLE REYES are two of the most promising delegates in this year's quest. |

Michelle Reyes tries out the Miss Universe crown (left). Far fetched fan-tasy or soon-to-be reality? The crown fits her head perfectly, I should say! |

Imee Martinez dresses up in Gianni Versace Haute Couture (above). But which hairstyle? From left to right: the Miriam 'bun;' long and flowing; or the Ruffa 'beehive?' Imee tries out a silver shimmering gown with a thigh high slit courtesy of the House of Halston (left). Smashing! |

Precious Lara Quigaman does the 'Miriam' thing with this heavily beaded Versa-ce haute couture evening gown (right). Copied from Miss Quiambao verbatim, down to the hairstyle and earrings! Hey, why not? She can pull it off, so why not go for it? What a stri-king resemblance indeed! |
