An Unrestored 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 2 Door Hardtop

This is a photo shoot I did of the car a couple of years ago for insurance purposes. The condition of the car is exactly the same, except for some more miles on the odometer. This car can be seen in person at the HRVAAA Show & Swap in Rhinebeck, NY, the All-Ford Nationals in Carlisle, PA, or at local Cruize Nites and Car Shows in the greater Hartford area in Connecticut. FYI: All 16 photo's were shot on a slightly overcast day using Kodak 400 Speed film in a Minolta Maxxum 3Xi set to Program mode. They were printed on FujiFilm Paper in a matte finish, and scanned using an HP psc 1350xi

We have recently discovered the reason for the 7 Liter trim tidbits that obviously came with the car, but are not on any other 2 Door Hardtop I have ever seen. I knew that the previous owner would not have paid one nickel more for the car to add these features, he would have taken one right off the lot. It turns out Ford offered a "Spring Special" version in the Spring of 1966. This was discovered by accident by John Rotella, President of LOVEfords, while watching a video of old Ford T.V. commercials. There was one from 1966 starring Tennesee Ernie Ford. In it, he points out the different features, the Styled Wheel Covers, extended rocker moulding from the rear wheel well to the rear bumper, the hood spear, and dual trapezoid chrome mirrors. The extra trim, as well as the two-tone paint scheme, make this car even more special to me.

UPDATE..06-10-04: A new battery from Turbo-Start, was installed last night. The last one went for 6 years, and was starting to get weak, and spit acid out of the vent caps. I bought their newer version, which is made using A.G.M. (Absorbent Glass Mat) technology. The battery is completely sealed, spillproof, maintenance free, and looks like an Autolite Group 24. It comes completely filled and charged, no need to fill with acid. I expect a long, trouble-free life of the battery.
