Brief History of

Asian College of Science and Technology

The Asian College of Science and Technology Foundation, Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit educational institution. All its income is channeled back to improve its facilities and equipment in accomplishing the purpose for which it was established - to foster relevant and values - oriented education training. The school had a very modest beggining. Incorporated in 1972 as the Asian Institue of Electronics (AIE), it started operation 1973 with only 300 students in a few rooms of the Prudential Bank Bldg. in Cubao, Quezon City. In 1993, AIE won the National Championship in the electronics division in the National Youth Skills Olympics sponsored by the National Manpower and Youth Council. In 1994, it garnered the National Capital Region championship in the same division, recieve a Rotary Club award for outstanding community service. In 1996, it again emerged champion in the Computer Servicing Category in the Metro Manila Youth Skills Olympics. In June 1995, AIE, by virtue of Department of Education, Culture and Sport accreditaion, was converted into-full fledged college, the ACSAT. Today, ACSAT's main campus is still the Prudential Bank Bldg. in Cubao. It now occupies the space from the second to the sixth floors. Its student population grew to 6,000. In keeping up with the founder's commitment to help provide first class education with international standards, nine branches were established on various dates in strategic places of the Philippines - Dumaguete City; Cabanatuan City; Cagayan de Oro; Baliuag, Bulacan; Alabang, Muntinlupa City; Bayawan, Negros Oriental; Novaliches, Quezon City;Caloocan City and Lower Antipolo. The total student population has reached the 10,000 mark in 1996.
