Nine of Swords
This card shows only shadows: a suggestion of a form, a hint of a face, the
dull
gleam of a bare blade. Still, emotion can be found... the humped back tells of
many roads walked, a sorrowing aspect in the eyes shows long years searching
for something, and a grim set to the mouth proves determination to see it
through to the end.
Number Two--for he goes by no other name--is Lily's right hand man. He is her
guardian, her protector. The only two that know of his origins are his mistress
and himself, and neither speak of it. He is never gone from her presence. It is
rumored that he walks in shadows, literally as well as figuratively.
