In present day New York, out of the public eye, a secret, unnamed government agency is conducting experiments in the areas of genetic research . . . and studies into the effects of gamma radiation. If they are successful, the results could be cataclysmic.
But there is another group in New York, one which doesn't answer to anybody. Its agents are mysterious - some are even outcasts from society. And they will use whatever means necessary to stop that cataclysm before it happens.
