Estrella Luiz, my best friend, was obviously concerned. She started pinching at my sides as I fought to get away. I stood up quickly and found Estrella's hand slapping right onto my backside.
"You know what is fat? THAT ASS!"
Derrick would choose now to stick his head in.
"I leave the room for a moment and two of you pick that moment to get kinky?"
I rolled my eyes as I ignored Derrick's obvious cry for attention.
"The thing is, finding fat on me is like finding grass in January, it is damn near impossible. Madison thinks she got the best of me in her victory but all she did is make me more passionate about this business."
Derrick was next to speak up.
"I mean, honestly, who is Griffin Macalister? I mean, everyone knows who you are and want to be you. who wouldn't want to be an Olympic Gold medalist and a future wrestling champion at twenty two years old?"
Derrick went to slap my ass but Estrella stopped him.
"Don't smack her ass, that is disrespectful."
Derrick looked confused.
"But you.."
Estrella shook her head and giggled.
"Yeah, but that is me. You have to EARN IT!"
Earning it. That is what I had set out to do this week on Saturday Solstice. I was excited to redeem myself. I spoke up as I looked at the commercial for the show.
"A Green Christmas match? Is that all I am to anyone? A walking marijuana joke?"
Estrella laughed at me.
"I mean, you are on your third blunt in the last hour!"
I threw a pillow at Estrella who shrieked loudly.
"Estrella. I do more than smoke weed. I also kick ass in the ring and Griffin is going to realize that soon. Look at Griffin MacAlister. He and I both come from less than privileged situations and we took different paths about it. He locked himself away in a garage learning a profession that anyone can learn on YouTube now. I traveled the world and won gold medals. I represented my country at a younger age than people can sign up to be in the military. I got to meet the President in 2012 when I won the gold. Griffin, be jealous. It is ok. Not all of us are cut out for athletics and it shows. Not all of us are cut from the same cloth and it shows. Not all of us can be the best of the best and unfortunately for you Griffin, it shows. Look Griffin, we all get it. You like cars. So do we all. I may not be able to tell you what a cam shaft is but I can show you what a punch to the face is. I can show you what a pure athlete is and you will see it up close and personal on Savage. I will be damned if I lose two straight matches. Madison Dyson got lucky against me and now you must feel the wrath of my loss. Griffin what is it that motivates you to continue in this business. Unlike people like me who are constantly wrestling to get better you come and go as you please. Must be nice to do that? Some of us would rather stay relevant. I think the last time you wrestled was during the MySpace days, right? Griffin you are a few years away from being the guy in the Cialis commercials. Come on now. Griffin, I know you are only eight years older than me but your days as a wrestler are numbered. Your chances to win anything of meaning are numbered. I am just starting. You are on your final leg. Come Savage, I will kick that leg out from under you. I will make sure you do not walk out of Savage. 2019 is about to end and you will be in a wheelchair come 2020. You are done Griffin and no one and nothing will stop me. You are in my way as I attempt to sky rocket. The jet pack is strapped onto my back and the sky is the limit. I was going to say you are an airplane in my way but that is too good for you. You are a minor inconvenience, kinda like a pigeon. You are a minor inconvenience and just shitting on everything. You are nothing. You are a small cog in a HUGE machine. I am a pivotal gear. I help make the machine run while you are there simply to slow things down."
Derrick interrupted me.
"He is a small cog with a small cog."
I shook my head at him.
"Just be happy that you are cute babe. Anyway, Griffin, what about you should I fear? They say we have nothing to fear but fear itself. That isn't always the case. You should fear me. Big things come in small packages and I will explode all over you this week. As I sit here, celebrating a great year with great people I look forward to XWF and what it will bring to me in the new year. I am guaranteed a shot at the Internet Title but I am anxious to win the big one. This time last year I was training under Kylie Moore and Lilianna Rose and I never thought I would have confidence or skill to win it all. Now, I know I will one day be a world champion. Baby steps, Geri, baby steps. I have to constantly tell myself that because ego and cockiness can get you beat much like it did against Madison Dyson. I won't allow myself to make the same mistake. I will just keep proving myself week in and week out as people like you continue to mistake me for someone who gives a fuck about you. You mistake me for someone who will take it easy on you simply because I am a female. Us females can do good work and not just in the kitchen or in the bedroom, though I do know my way around both. That is neither here nor there. This business, much like life, is about the journey that makes the destination all the better. Road trips are the most fun things in the world so my road trip to the XWF Universal Title will be a hell of a trip. It will be a hell of a ride. It will be a nonstop thrill ride as the XWF Universe watches in amazement as the resident stoner becomes the champion. That is then and you are in the now, MacAlister. You are a waste of space and a waste of oxygen and I absolutely will prove that to you come Savage. As sure as I know I am alive and breathing is how sure I am of knowing I will defeat you and propel myself that much more ahead of where I am now. I am anxious to show the world that I am not a one hit wonder. That I am capable of beating more than just Melanie Childs. I am capable of running with the big boys and girls of XWF. Time to prove I am more than just hype. I am more than just a pot head. I am also an ass kicker. I am someone who looks better when draped in gold!"
I laughed as I stood up and walked to the kitchen for a drink of water. The scene faded out.
