On Usenet, and at Chuck Dixon's message board, The Hunt For Oracle storyline was something that Nightwing and Birds Of Prey fans were getting excited about, ever since the crossover was first suggested. Part two of this arc just didn't carry any of the excitement I hoped it would.

For the most part, this was more of a comical comic book than a gripping story. You'd think a tale called The Hunt For Oracle would have a high degree of tension in it, but there's nothing like that here. We know that Babs is outside of the city, while she's talking to Dinah. The ensuing goose chase that Blockbuster and Stallion are led on, with the not too believable xeno-hunters Mouse and Giz, contributes to six pages of tensionless action. All that time would've given Oracle quite an opportunity to leave the country, teleport up to the Watchtower, or whatever.

The only page-turning parts of the book came when Lady Vic clonked Dinah, and when Nite-Wing was about to do the same to Cisco. Babs was never in any danger. This issue was more like a hunt for excitement, coming up empty.
