At the Dating Agency

Dating agent:

Shall I compare her to a Beaujolais?
She is less youthful and exuberant.
She gathers sediment. You must decant,
but her aroma keeps that foul bouquet.

Plus, she is corked, her color's often scant,
frequently flat, sometimes too oxidized
from long hours standing, leaking little drops
that make me think of barley and of hopps
and other nightmares I believed excised
from my collection wrung from vineyard crops.

Lonely heart:

Her fermentation may not be complete,
her effervescence just a breath away,
so if I wait her taste may still turn sweet
-- I'll put a "Maybe" in my dossier.
