We shall not cease from exploration

In response to T.S. Eliot

We shall not cease from exploration,
and the end of all our travels
is a mystery that unravels.

Oh! Give me maps with empty spaces,
those wondrous holes of the unknown
where worldly wisdom is unsown!

No more, no more, alas! We know it all,
we've planted feet on every shore,
and paved pavements on each floor.

Will we arrive where we started,
and claim it for our time
or are we tainted by our crime?

Too late, too late, alas! We left it all
within the unknown remembered gate
and wandering-wondering is our fate.
