christina maria aguilera was born on december 18th 1980 in statten island, new york. she was raised in pittsburgh, pennsylvania, usa. she weighs 102lb and is 5'2, and enjoys playing volleyball and baseball. he favourite colours are purple and turquoise, and at just 19 years old, she has sold over 8million copies of her debut album "christina aguilera" and had three us #1 releases at the same time: "come on over baby (all i want is you)" - #1 on the billboard hot 100 singles, "ven conmigo (solamente tu)" - #1 on the billboard latin singles chart, and "mi reflejo" - #1 on the latin album chart.
christina got her "big break" on the disney channel's "the new mickey mouse club" where she met future "colleagues" britney spears and justin timberlake (from *nsync). she and britney bonded, as she recalls, "we were the youngest, and we became close friends. we still talk today; there's no hostility between us."

   when the show was cancelled, christina and her mum went back to pensylvania (her dad left her mother, when christina was very young - it was the divorce that gave christina more inspiration to sing) and waited. her manager informed her that the new disney film "mulan" was to have a song called "reflection" on it - but the producers wanted someone who could "hit the top e above middle c." her manager immediately thought of her, and she got a record contract.
   her debut single "genie in a bottle" hit the #1 spot all over the world, proving to be a threat to britney's "teen queen" throne. however, britney has still sold over 22million more copies of her albums than christina'a 8million (britney sold 30million copies of "...baby one more time" and "oops!... i did it again" combined). but, christina is going for the "harder" - more "adult" appeal, as she showed when she was joined by fred durst (of us rock-rap band limp bizkit) at the mtv video music awards 2000.
   going for a more r&b appeal on her new albums "mi reflejo" and "my kind of christmas" we are promised more of the same on her fourth, as yet untitled, album out next year!
