Debuting just before the K-METAL league in 2005, he entered the league however his results were very minimal. Obata developed very slowly, only picking up small wins here and there over other rookes and new wrestlers such as Bambi, TAKU & TOMO Michinoku. In the K-METAL League 2006, he made it to the finals before losing to TAKU, however started to develop quickly, wrestling outside of K-DOJO as well. In September 2006, Obata joined Kinnoutou after a strong showing against KAZMA after appealing multiple times for entry. A quick, exciting young talent, Obata has a very bright future in K-DOJO.
- Yusaku Obata retired in November 2006 due to an injury he had received in early October. He may one day return to wrestling, however for the time being, he will retire from active competition
