WILLLIAM  EDMUND  DUNN

William Emund Dunn

It was certainly a sad day at the home of Mrs. Mary Dunn last Friday, when her son, William, after a brief illness of only two weeks, succunbed to the inevitable. A young man, strong, healthy, robust, and rugged in the twinkling of an eye in comparison of time, gave up his earthly career and joined the Great Majority. Willie Dunn, as he was familiarly known, two weeks ago last thursday appeared in perfect health but at the close of the day made slight complaint of a pain in his side and took mild medication for relif but inflammation of the bowls soon set in and for two weeks he suffered great pain. The best of medical care was given him, but there seemed lttle hope of his ever rallying again and on Friday morning, October 6th, he realized that his time had come and called his mother, and his brothers and sister to his bedside, to bid them goodbye, signifying a willingness to go, and at about noon breathed his last.

William Edmund Dunn was born at Flandreau, August 16, 1880, and was therefore 19 years, one month, and 20 days of age. He was an industrious, intelligent, hardworking young man, with excellent habits. He graduated from the Flandreau High School last June and acquitted himself creditably in all his class work. The subject of his graduation oration was "What Next?" and he handled it well. He was thought much of by all his classmates, and everbody who knew him. He leaves to mourn his departure his mother, two brothers, Elmo and Johnny, and sister, Minnie. The funeral occurred on Sunday, the services bring held at the M.E. church, Rev. Hopkins officiating. The services were largely attended, the procession to the cemetery consisting of over one hundred teams.
