V-TwinFORUM: If you can wade through the blatant commercial self promotion and their horde of groupies, you can get some useful information. Many guys know their stuff, but some have never touched a wrench and preach like a bible-beater. Just ignore the vendor spam (i.e. only their cam plates, cam or expensive head work can get the job done). Since the recent forum software "upgrade", the site has become a major ad spam haven. Unless you like very slow page loading, I suggest you get the free Mozilla Firefox browser and its Adblock and Flashblock extensions.

Harley Tech Talk :This is the place to get current information about upgrades and problems. From basic questions to high torque builds, everything can be found here, along with a constant drone of commercial self promotion by a few vendors. Also a real band-width hog.

Hdforums: A  do it yourself help forum that has many  people who know and some that don't. Real information for people who actually work on their bike without the horsepower chaser attitude but take some information with a grain of salt.

Cycle Chat: Another forum for the v-twin enthusiast. Nice web site graphics.

Harley Davidson Press Release: New Twin Cam 96, 6-speed cruise drive powertrain for 2007.

Harley Davidson Parts Manual: Exploded views and part numbers for many bikes. This site may be pulled by Harley ... I guess it's no technical information unless you pay the Harley "tax".

Mikuni Tuning Manual: This is the manual to tune HSR 42, 45 and 48 carburetors. The carb may be different, but the theory and methods will work on Harley Keihin CV carbs or any carb for that matter.

Harley SERT, What is it? How to Tune EFI: This gives you the basics to do your own EFI fuel mixture and ignition adjustments. Look through the "smoke and mirrors" often associated with Delphi EFI.

TTS Power systems (the maker of the SERT) no longer makes the Race Tuner and will soon release an up dated version of it's own. Check out their web site for good reading and a public listing of the HD SE (Harley Race Tuner) EFI fuel tables.

The new Harley product, called the Pro Race Tuner and now made by Kent-Moore, will  use similar screens but different software and "dongle". This summer should prove interesting regarding EFI tuning.

The latest word from Steve Cole on their new TSS Harley tuner:

We hope to begin shipping in the next couple weeks. I do not know the part numbers yet but I can give you the prices of the 2 Software Kits. I should have the cable kit prices next week.

Steve Cole comments about the closed loop auto tuner:

Closed Loop Auto tune can be done on the dyno to make it quicker to tune or on the street with a laptop logging the data. You will need to use one of our new maps and set it up for auto tuning then program the bike.. Use the V-tune data log feature in Data Master to log the data while you go for a ride. Try to run the motor in as many different conditions as you can by using different gears and riding the brake some to load it down. Save the logged data and then open the new V-tune program. It will have you load the . MT7 file you programmed into the bike and then load the data you collected in DataMaster. From that it will automatically create a new corrected map for you and show you the changes its making. Save the file then use MasterTune to program the new file into the bike again. Each time you log data and run V-tune on the data it will correct the map closer and closer for you until it's right where it needs to be. We find it takes 2 full runs on the dyno to bring the map right in where it needs to be. Once the V-tune data is done all that is left is the WOT runs to tune for full power. Everything is explained in detail in the on-line help files in both MasterTune and DataMaster so we tell you to start by sitting down and reading the help files and were here to answer an questions we can after that.

Techlusions: Dobeck performance, a source for electronic fuel injection systems and Techlusion fuel management products.

Nightrider : A huge number of pages with a lot of info. It can be a little dated in certain areas, but this site has a lot to offer if you take it with a grain of salt. For those with EFI, an update deals with tuning and O2 sensors. Please note that they promote and sell a "Rube Goldberg" O2 sensor add-on to richen up the cruise AFR. This can easily be done with the SERT and a lot more.

Harley ECM Password Learn: When you replace many post 2004 model year ECMs, the new unit must be "married" to the vehicle. Save a day at the dealer.

2004/2005 'Serial data bus' system codes: Checking for diagnostic trouble codes. This method requires no tools or the dealer.

Pictorial Big Bore and gear driven cam install: More great stuff from Harleyhog.

Compression Ratio Calculator: Check out the build before you build it. See if your "short" cam and high compression gives you 225 CCP nightmares or a torque monster.

AMT American Motorcycle Tire: A bike tire vendor with East and West coast shipping locations.

Motorcycle Tire Changing: Check out this site to find the tricks of tire changing and balancing.

J&P Cycles: "Membership" required to get the best prices except on "open" days. The 6 thick catalogs a year make excellent bathroom reading but you can always find a better deal somewhere else.

SeaFoam at Montana Jacks  Best price on SeaFoam, a proven fuel system cleaner and fuel stabilizer for all EFI and carbed systems. This is not as good as BG44K, but a lot cheaper and readily available at the local Autozone store.

GMR Performance  A real, full service bike shop in Prescott, AZ. Dyno sheets and tech info.

Innovate Motorsports  Wide Band O2 sensors and their related controllers and displays.

Custom Chrome: Compliment to the other biggie, Drag Specialties.

Wally's Cycle An internet low price supplier of Harley aftermarket parts. Browse their vendor catalogs: Bikers Choice, Custom Chrome, Drag Specialties, Le Pera and Mustang. They do take PayPal.

Cyborg Cycles Harley Tool Room: Around 500 tools that will make the job go much easier and faster. Looks like the site and/or company is up in smoke. Try back later.

George's Garage  The place for good Harley special tools ... super prices and service, look at seller gbmng on Ebay to find the store.

Harley Performance

Zippers Performance: A local MD company ... who shifts at 6,500 RPM? But if you do, check Zippers out. If you're interested in high RPM horsepower and NOT typical cruising torque, also look at Hemidesign.

Atwood Performance: "Your Harley Davidson cylinder head porting specialist" or so they say.

badgirl.gif (71276 bytes)East Bay Thunder: Nice stuff through out. Can you believe back, neck and shoulder aches can be cured by a 1 1/4" diameter chubby, a Wild 1 Chubby that is. The Wild 1 Chubby handle bar line is everything you could ask for.I found my new RK II to be pristine in fit and finish and perfect ergonomics.

Hell Riser Customs

Heavy Duty Cycle: A little dated, but still useful. Can we say "update"? A good example of "resting on your laurels".

Chicago Harley Davidson : When you get fed up with the high shipping charges of Zanotti, Chicago HD has all parts and clothing discounted seasonally. Just type in the Harley part number in the "Item Search" box.

Neon Harley signBartels Harley: Watch for good specials ... I wish they answered their eMail. Some businesses just don't get it.

Sheepskin Buttpads from Alaska Leather: Priced right, super quick shipping and they  raise the comfort level for that really long day on the
road.

Seat modifications from Mean City: Re-shape, re-foam or re-cover, they can probably handle the job.

Build a small trailer you can pull with a bike or small car for under $300.00: At some point you've probably wondered to yourself....."self, I'd love to have a little extra space for hauling 'stuff' home from the swap meet or the outlet mall or for camping but trailers are sooooo expensive!  Is there a solution?" Well wonder no more because there is.

All you need is a light duty trailer (#42708 860 pound capacity) sold by Harbor Freight and your choice of car top carriers. You can order the trailer from the online catalog. Shipping (at this writing) is free and you'll only be charged tax if you live in California. If there's a Harbor Freight store in your area, you should still check the web page for possible sale pricing and the store will honor the web (catalog) price which is often as low as $139.00 .

Before you buy, read through the following instructions and see if you really want to assemble your own trailer (it can be done in as little as an afternoon or weeks depending how much you want to put into the project).

Uni-go Bike Trailers: A lot more than $300.00, but they sure look nice.

Airbrush City: Huge eBay sales on paint stuff.manjumpingbid.gif (19578 bytes)Dale?

Tarheelparts: The place for buffing stuff. Buffing kits and Baldor buffers.
