Coin machines are nothing new to society. The 1948 Exhibits were cards that you could get for a penny. This 50 card set was predominitly baseball, but showcased four basketball cards. In 1949 another series was released and two of these cards were basketball. The 1949 cards look just like the 1948 cards with the copyright date being the only difference. The 1949 Exhibits are much rarer.
The key card from this set is without a doubt the George Mikan. This set was produced before the 1948 Bowman set, so it could be argued that this is Mikan's rookie card.
